Who Are We?
Founded in 2014, the Animal Law Institute (ALI) is a community legal centre dedicated to protecting animals through the Australian legal system.
The suffering and exploitation of millions of animals in Australia is legal and happens every day because of cruel, inadequate and inconsistent laws.
We aim to challenge the way our laws treat animals by:
providing legal advice to clients through our Anti-Puppy Farm Legal Clinic; and
strategically pursuing avenues to advocate for systemic change in the animal protection space.
Our reputation is built on our unwavering commitment to bringing about real and lasting change for animals through the law.
ALI is an independent community legal centre and a member of Community Legal Centres Australia (CLCA), and a not-for-profit registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC).
We help animals by supporting animal advocates and welfare groups.
Help us help them.
