The Animal Law Institute is led and staffed by experts in their field who are passionate about animal welfare, animal rights and creating change through the legal system.

Our Board of Directors

  • Meg Lamb

    SECRETARY

    Meg was admitted to legal practice in 2014 and currently works as a campaigner/lawyer with animal welfare and conservation organisation, Humane Society International (Australia). She joined the Animal Law Institute as a Director in January 2021, having previously volunteered as a solicitor for several years. 

    Meg loves animals and is passionate about using the law to protect them.

  • Amanda Richman

    Amanda Richman

    DIRECTOR

    Amanda is the Ethical Stewardship Lead at Australian Ethical Investment and was previously a senior associate in the Allens competition and consumer law team.

  • Rachel Lamb

    Rachel Lamb

    DIRECTOR

    Rachel is an Assistant Parliamentary Counsel at the Australian Office of Parliamentary Counsel. She is a lawyer with a background in regulation and public policy.

    Sarah has worked in animal law for 10+ years and is passionate about extending animal protections through legal practice & law reform.

    Before joining ALI, Adrian worked in animal law for more than a decade with the Victorian group Lawyers for Animals.

  • Kate Weir

    Kate Weir

    LEGAL ADMINISTRATOR/PARALEGAL

    Kate is a graduate law student, passionate about advancing protections for non- human animals through legal advocacy and law reform. 

  • Charlotte King

    Charlotte King

    SECONDEE LAWYER

    Charlotte joined ALI in 2023 on a pro bono secondment from lawyerbank, where she is a Senior Associate.
